Annoying things shopkeepers and their assistants do......

.......one happened to me this morning, instead of handing me my change the newsagent 'poured' the 4 coins into my hand as if my hand was a receptacle for collecting fruit machine winnings!
Maybe I'll fold my fiver into an aeroplane shape and fire it towards him next time

In my local Tesco some of the people on checkout just zap everything and all the items get clogged up at the other end whilst I'm still trying to get stuff out the trolley. And when they have finished they ask for the payment and I'm still faffing about trying to pack everything away. It would help If they were to help with the packing.
But when they do help packing they either put about 6 bottles in one bag so it breaks or is so heavy you cant lift it! I hate the staff that chat the most. It happens all the time. Once in Superdrug the girl behind the till was practically shouting to someone else who was stood away from her in the store. They were talking absolute immature crap about some boy I think and not once did they stop to speak or even look at me. I was so disgusted I actually emailed customer services and told them, like it suggested on the receipt! Didnt hear back though.
When I have worked in shops and pubs I have always poured the change into customer's hands. I don't like handling grubby money in the first place( considering how many hands it has been through) and I am definitely not going to touch some strangers hand whilst giving change, I have no idea whether they washed their hands after the last toilet visit, or whether they have been picking their nose etc.
Sigh...
Other end of the spectrum...
1- we pack your bags because we have to, not because we want to
2- we ask you if you want help packing, again, because we have not, not because we like you!
3- we give you your change the way we count it out the till, frankly it gets your miserable face away from us as quickly as possible. If you don't like it, have the correct amount.
4- We pack as much in bags as we can, again, because were told to, less bags used, more profit. Once again, if you don't like it, pack your own and or provide your own bags.

I must admit our Tesco tills p me off and that's not the fault of the till operators, it's a design fault IMO. They took away the conveyor belt from the customer side, so there is now a short metal tray, the goods very rarely get pushed down far enough to reach me packing at the other end. The till roll now comes out in such a way it's almost as if they expect the customer to take it themselves. I'll give 'em their due, they never start processing the goods until the customer has finished unpacking and is ready to receive the other end.
Couldt wait on you B00 :)
daffy -just as easy to count it out -you dont have to touch anyones hands.I dont want as a customer to touch someones hands who has been dealng with everyones germs all day but I do like the time between packing to be able to get my change first then time to get my notes if necessary counted out.
Every job sucks -its the chatting which is really the absolute worst bug bear with me -its blatant rudeness.

We always do at the co op Tiggs, its a courtesy, we don't have to to be honest, but we ALWAYS do. Unless of course the customer wants to pack their own.
I know it's easy to sl@g off the poor moo at the till, but we've usually had a full day of @rses, who think the world revolves around their shopping- it gets tiring after a bit, i can tell you.

I would always tell the customer how much change I was giving them Dris, and I would always wait until they were ready to accept the change before handing it over (never rushed a customer in my life). There is no way I would count it out into their hand though. That is not my job, it is up to the customer to check their own change before leaving the premises. I can't recall ever giving wrong change.
