Deleting searches

Can anyone tell me how I can delete what I have been searching for on the internet? Its nothing dodgy...I've been looking for a special present for my bloke's birthday and I dont want him getting any clues! Its supposed to be a surprise but when I went back into Google all my searches came up! Help!!
