Computer Upgrade compatiblity

OK folks here goes,

I would like to turn my PC into a gaming PC,

How do i know if my motherboard is compatible with my graphics card, my processor and ever thing will fit into my case??

Sorry for the question if you dont know you dont know

I have the following ( But these are getting upgraded)

Amtec 900 Gaming case ( which will stay)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz
System RAM 2gb
NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT/GTO
Microsoft Windows XP Professional

I assume you paid comparable money for the mobo - but be careful - if it's more than 12 months old - bin it.
mobos get old as quick as graphics cards

surprised you are using XP
directx10 makes quite a difference

gaming cases tend to be a good size
... but it's going to get hot .... and noisy - consider a couple of silent fans
and a "fancy" heatsink for the cpu
also consider using a Western Digital Raptor for your OS/games

given all that - why not just build a new machine?
