When you install Office 2007 did you also install the Outlook part?
The Outlook in Office is NOT the same as Outlook Express that is "free" with Windows.
When you go into your mail do you go into Outlook or Outlook Express.
Not sure if this would cause you problem but it may do.

Agree with Vehelpfulguy. Outlook 2007 which is a part of the Office 2007 suite is much better than the free Outlook Express. Whilst this may or may not be the cause of the missing spell checker you are better off using Outlook 2007 and importing your old mails and contacts from Outlook Express.
