Saving a package

I want to do a recovery on my hard disk but in doing so will lose Microsoft Works which came embedded with the original system. Is there a way of saving it for reinstallation later. The notes say that this package would be lost if a recovery was done.

Mine came embedded as well , not sure how a recovery is going to lose it . I've just done a recovery from my recovery partition & it's still there . Alternatively you could use http://www.openoffice.org/ which does more than Works anyway & is free & will open MS Office files

No I did not get any CDs with the computer, I had to produce my own. On the Adevent notes it says Microsoft Works will not be recovered so its an expensive way to find out as it has not been done before.

If I do lose it maybe I will use your suggestion.
