Previous Versions in Windows Vista

I've upgraded to Windows Vista and I am unable to use the new feature that lets you return to a previous version of a document. If I right click on a file, and go into Properties, I don't get the previous versions tag. is there a way to Activate it? I'm using vista home premium.
