I ordered 6 boxes of Bold Crystal Rain at the bargain price of £5 each from Tesco. I usually do this when it's on special offer. Their normal price was I think £9. Booked delivery slot for last night, it didn't arrive.
I phoned the customer services number on confirming email. To be told it was out of stock. Yet I had an email yesterday saying delivery was ok for last night.
I asked when I would receive the order to be told I wouldn't be getting it as the promotion ended today. I asked surely seeing as I ordered it 10 days ago the price should be honoured. No I was told.
I think this is disgraceful. Still fuming after the phonecall.

Hope you cancelled the order, Caran
There are worst things that could happen, I think you need a bit of perspective.....

Elliemay1, I mentioned that I had paid for the time slot and what would happen to that charge to be told I hadn't been charged for anything as invoices are raised on delivery.

Thank you for that piece of wisdom rockyroad.
It's a nuisance but as you say you won't be charged - always the same with promotions though people order in bulk and stocks can't cope.
You are welcome caran. It must be nice to have nothing else to worry about x
Although you ordered it 10 days ago they can only deliver whats in stock.

No point in getting so het up about it.

I had an email saying my order had been picked and would arrive last night.
No notification the order was not being delivered.
Bad luck on this one Caran - those other bargain spotters must have got ther first this time.
But reading this I realised that I have no idea what Bold Crystal Rain is & what I might use it for.

It's a soap powder!
From Tesco's grocery T & Cs,

"Availability
If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you. Please note that we will attempt to deliver substitute lines should selected lines be unavailable unless you request us not to do so.

Although we will always try to cater for your orders, an order of large quantities of a line can only be fulfilled at the discretion of the store. For example, if you were to make an order of 10 bottles of wine which would use up all that store's stock, the store may only deliver 5 bottles.

Acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract is only formed when we notify you that we have despatched your order or notify you that your order is available to collect at the store (as applicable). At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you.

The Tesco.com grocery service is available for non-commercial and domestic use only. We reserve the right to refuse orders from businesses or that we consider are for commercial or other non-domestic concerns.

To ensure availability of all our products customers may be limited to a maximum number of items."

Thanks Caran - £9 for soap powder!! I was expecting real crystals!

Thank you Mamya.
Caran....it does seem a tad harsh, but shops do tend to promote their offers by adding " while stocks last"

Not very diplomatic of Tesco though.
Oh dear, I assumed it was some kind of wine!!
I'd be fuming too. I bulk buy that sort of thing when it's on offer, it saves a fortune
Go to Lidl and save a fortune every time you shop !
I get all my laundry products from Aldi and they are Good Housekeeping approved. I've tested them against the big makers products and they are far better and far cheaper. Too much of the cost of branded products is in the advertising!
With Rocky there. Aldi's Almat washing powder and Magnum wash up liquid is first class and half the price. Believe me, "She who must be obeyed" is not one to accept any rubbish when it comes to cleaning or sanitary products. The bleach is also just fine.
