What kind of things have you put under the pillows for the kids? My hubby puts a tenner for the first tooth and then we put pound or two for each of the rest.

''a silver coin (well, silver-coloured) is quite enough'' Preferably one of those chocolate foil coins... enough of them and there won't be any teeth left to fork out for in the future ;-p

I only used to get six old pence, I remember my daughter getting fifty pence, I dont think I could afford children these days !
WHAT???

i used to get 20p
my how times have changed it used to be coins e.g half a crown when I was a kid, ten pounds seems a bit OTT is that the going rate ?
Yikes, they must be pretty rich tooth fairies round you!
It's many moons since we've had a visit from the tooth fairy but I think a tenner is probably a bit much to be honest, probably £1 would do, or maybe £2 coin. Or maybe I'm just out of touch :(
A tenner - WOW !
I got 50p for molars and 20p otherwise :(

I thought a tenner was crazy when hubby did that as my parents only put twenty pence there if they remembered to. But the tenner was only for the first tooth mind ;-)
A tenner seems way too much for a child of around five (?).
Think my youngest grandson got £2 for his first tooth then £1 thereafter.
Hi phleb, 50p tops !!
£1.

Hi flump xx
When my girls were little it was 50p per tooth, due to inflation (and an 8 year gap between children 2 and 3) it went up to £1 per tooth.
As above, I was promised and received a quilted dressing gown if I passed the exam, my older sister had received one two years previously. They were the epitome of wonderfulness in the 60s, my first grown up item of clothing and I had it for years and years.
The first Christmas once i started at the grammar school, I asked for and got a black plastic document case, no handle and a zip on three sides, to use instead of the leather satchel which had been passed down to me. And a black polo neck jumper. And felt very lucky that I received those..and only those..two presents.
How times change, just thinking of the tooth fairy :)
Oops, thought I'd started a new thread...about the 11+
I used to get sixpence for a double tooth and a threepenny bit for a single tooth. I was born in 1953 though.
A tenner blimey! i got a penny if i was lucky !!
Just leave an IOU from the Tooth Fairy.
A teener's far too much, IMO - a silver coin (well, silver-coloured) is quite enough for a little person to start saving.
A Pound a Peg for the young ones in our family these days.
