Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Phew it's warm ,I must be nearly as sweti as Neti :)
Hope you're all ok .It's times like this that I do love to be beside the seaside. We went to the seafront yesterday and the beach was packed.I did hobble to the waters edge for a paddle and it was lovely,then we sat along the front and had some fish and chips and an ice cream.
Too hot to move really.I'm parked in the garden with my book and brolly again and I thank the powers that be for ready meals,salad and Sainsbury's home delivery .Keep cool.

pretty warm here today but I didn't venture out much except to pull up more weeds. Two exhibitions to go to tomorrow - three princesses and a Sargent - so I hope it doesn't get too blazing hot.

Morning all. I now have a complete smile, not a gap anywhere. Its great.
Had a lovely meal out last night and I managed to chomp my way through some lamb chops.
Having a quiet day today and out again tomorrow for another dinner.

Just doing your packet Shaney, I seem to have lost the plot with this series. Just checking it now.
Friends came round and dropped mini pork pies. Flavoured sausages ( not to my liking) cheddar cheese so dinner is sorted for today.
Mouth feels very strange. This last tooth is a pop on one. I pop it in and pop it out, its amazing 200€. Well pleased. Still haven't got any fixative. Will check in chemist tomorrow.

it was quite warm out there today, but usually with a light breeze, so I haven't entirely missed the Summer of 17. Been to two exhibition previews and OH has now gone to a Meat Loaf preview

I still my have my Meat Loaf LP,Bat out of Hell. Paradise by the dashboard light ...fab.
It's been much cooler here today with a breezy cloudy morning but it got out warmer late afternoon.A couple more days of this and then it's back to normal conditions apparently.Nothing doing here ,same old.
