Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive
My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.
Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)
(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Answers
I use up-to-date Avast on W8.1 and don't have this problem. If you right-click the Avast icon in the task tray you'll find the 'Avast Shield Controls' where you can disable it for a period - see if the drive is recognised when Avast is disabled. I suspect it won't make a difference.

Yes jno targeting such young children was abhorrent, I still sat to hija just go and live your life. She went to Istanbul with a male friend and his mum was so scared of him going there, they had to lie! Have to admit that when I go clubbing in Pacha ( and I hope to go in July) the club is so crowded it would be impossible to escape as there are no exits marked, but then I have another beer and forget it. You have too. Am watching Arianna Grande and it's very touching, not that I know many of the stars or the songs!
We had a delicious lunch in village plus the obligatory wine, so then I sleep all pm!

I'm still alive ..lol. Nothing doing ,same old .Been making the most of the nice weather with which we seem to have been lucky but it looks as if it's all change tomorrow. We've had no rain or thunderstorms,just the odd rumble which didn't amount to anything. Apart from having my eyebrows threaded and painting my nails I lead a very dull life ;)

such an old car they'll probably just give us a couple of hundred euros and that's it. I want a car!

What a grim day,chilly,rainy and blowing a gale .Total shock to the system although I don't think we've had it as bad as some parts of the country.Supposed to clear later though.
Neti on Wiki it says that there are 13 episodes of The Americans season 5, the last one being "The Soviet Division" if that's any help.

Just wading through my brothers ironing as he has to be smart for next week .He's going to Weymouth on a mini break,by coach .First time travelling away on his own anywhere since Freda died.I think it may do him good.I hope so.

Some of the one liners are brilliant and the *** way they try and get one over on each other.I'm glad I saved it as I've run out Of Murdoch Mysteries which I binge watched ..lol.
As it's such a mizz day I'm not talking my nightly painkillers and am having a drinkie instead as I'm worth it :)

Good morning, remember me? :)...let's see if I can get as far as signing in and posting this. Believe me I have tried but the site closes down on me. Maybe I'm just not entertaining enough. It's true, I haven't done anything exciting, when I'm not feeling grotty I'm trying to keep busy...and vice versa.
Sis and b-i-l came to cut the hedges for me (I had to help with the clearing up and that set me back a couple of days) and we had a nosey over next door's. Oh dear, what a mess. The old lady would be heartbroken, it had been beautiful. sigh
Some days I just haven't wanted to watch the news, it's dreadful. I don't take it for granted that because I live near to downtown Derby that we'll all be safe but I'm not paranoid either. The weather's been wild too but no thunder and lightning. It's thoroughly miz today but thankfully I've already voted by post.

morning all, all ready to head for the station; I hope you will elect a better government for me while I'm away, but I'm ot confident. A nice Spanish senora came knocking on our door last night - she's just bought the top flat and wanted to say hello. She intended it for her m-i-l but now thinks there are too many stairs, so she'll let it out, hopefully to someone quiet but we don't hear much from up there anyway.

Weather here v nice, warmish but not sweltering. Need hair cut tomorrow, I've been cutting it myself and bleached it platinum and love the colour, but need to do roots ( yes even at my advanced age) every 2 weeks as I hate them. Hairdresser will frown!
Pool is up, and running but it's been storming and chilly so have not used it yet,
