I have been told that to use Paypal, you have to pay a fee. If this is so, how much and is it charged every time you use Paypal or something like an annual fee, whether you use Paypal every day or two or three times a year? Ta Muchly.

No annual; fee.
People say paypal take a cut but I've never paid one as far as I can see.
You may have to pay a fee to guarantee instant payment of funds into your bank account
You don't pay to send money but you do to receive it. The % varies on the amount you receive.
I keep reading that on here, kathyan, but I never seem to have to pay anything to receive funds. If I expect £10 that's whatI get
It depends how it's sent. If it's for goods or services, you pay but if it's a gift you don't. Are you sure you haven't been charged FF?

Many Thanks Factor-F and Cathyan, that makes it a bit clearer, but I thought Paypal was a kind of intermediary...and they do it for nowt? In my respect, I was thinking about paying out to someone, but if Paypal do that for nowt, then who am I to complain?
I like using PayPal, it means the person you are paying to never gets to know your personal bank details. I use it a lot.
If you sell anything on e-bay then Paypal take a percentage of whatever you receive.
No, if you sell anything on eBay, eBay take a percentage of the final sale price. I don't pay PayPal anything.
There are some charges dependent on whether you use for selling or buying irrespective of whether you use ebay. There is no annual fee. Nobody does things for nothing it is a business. It is a good way of paying for goods as has been said before, it keeps your card details safe as not any tom, dick or harry has them, just paypal which is secure. You also have some protection if you don't receive the goods, similar to ebay.

Yes, yes, yes, but how much do you pay? Many Thanks All.
If you go into your paypal account is there a contact us or help area for you to ask them and get the answer. It is a percentage I think but cannot say exactly what it is.
Hello Boxtops---I should have said that if your buyer pays you by Paypal then a fee is taken by paypal .
Perhaps some actual facts and figures might help here?

If its a new a/c Paypal pay small amount (11p) into your account to check bona-fide money transfers, that you relate back to Paypal. Charges are between your bank & ebay via Paypal.
