slow loading laptop

Morning A/Bs I have a Toshiba satellite laptop only a few months old but loads Internet explorer and other programs very slowly there is plenty of space on the hard drive and has 4gb. I would be grateful for any help thanks in anticipation Rick

You could have a malware infection . If you have Malwarebytes installed run a scan with it in safe mode. If you dont have it download it from another computer on to a usb stick and run it from outside as some malware infections wont allow you to install removal tools such as this. Have you run a virus scan in safe mode with your installed antvirus program? Give this a try .

Hi Galek1947 Thank you for your reply and interest I have ( and had for years ) norton pc protection,I ran a full scan and apart from the usual cookies no problem was found i also ran a full scan using microsoft security essentials again nothing was found however I searched the net and downloaded a malware program that found " freeze.com" on my harddrive was harmful but as stated no scans found it . I value your comments have you heard of this program and is it harmful as stated. Regards Rick

having 2 anti-virus programs on your pc i think will slow it down you should only have 1 as they conflict each other. You can download malwarebytes here for free good program to have.

Errrm, yeah...

Remove norton (or Microsoft security essentials) you shouldn't have them both on your computer!
