what is a Raid Tool needed for please?

Sometimes when I am logging on it comes up 'via raid tool' is it good to have this or can I safely delete it.Don't know how I got it as it has just recently started appearing. TIA rosy

RAID is a way of combining 2 or more hard drives so they effectively act as one drive with the data existing on more than one drive, the purpose being (generally) that if one drive fails you wouldn't lose any data. (pretty simplistic explanation of RAID)

Assuming you only have one drive in your computer then you almost certainly don't need the RAID tools.
