missing the @ sign

i have lost the capabilty of bringing up the @ sign by pressing the arrow under caps lock and the @ key ,not on this computer but my daughters anyone any ideas as to how i can get it back please as i am in the dog house .its something i have done inadvertantly ,thanks

does it work without the shift key to do a ' ? if not maybe somethings stuck under it... mine keys always stick due to goodie crumbs........

Try going into the control panel and checking the region and language settings are set to the correct country.

And make sure the keyboard is set as a uk keyboard.

You have two shift keys, left and right (one "arrow" key under "caps" but the other "arrow" is below "return"/"enter" key). Try right "arrow" (learn to call these keys "shift") in case your left key is failing. A lot depends if you have lap-top or desk top computer. If the latter you can replace key-board cheaply.

As everyone else has said, it's a language setting problem, ignore "solvitquick"

And once you've set the default to UK, remove the US Keyboard, then you can't accidentally switch keyboards.

I have a new keyboard at work. The speech marks " key gives me @ and the other way round.

so go to regional settings and change the keyboard
