''UK bookmaker William Hill is taking bets that Michael Schumacher will retire before the Belgian Grand Prix (33/1) and that he will return to retirement at the end of the season (evens).''

Worth a punt? His dangerous manoeuvre at Hungary aside, he plainly is not as competitive as hoped, borne out by the fact that team mate Rosberg is over 50 points ahead of him in the Driver's Championship in the same car.

Time to go Shuey before you do any further harm to other drivers or your already tarnished reputation. Who would you like to see replace him? I'd like to see Kimi Raikkonen back in F1...

Oh I really hope he goes, he should never have been allowed back. I think it's a good bet as I think he realises he is just embarrassing himself (well, if he had the good graces to ever feel embarrassed!)
Yes I would like to see Kimi back, he was a favourite of mine.
Looking forward to seeing Villeneuve Racing if they make it in next season too.

Kimi jumping in to the Mercedes in time for Belgium (Spa), although very unlikely, would make me very happy, although there are rumours that if he does return he'll go to Renault and partner Kubica (but there are also rumours that Kubica will go to Mercedes and partner Rosberg)...
Who cares whether he retires (again) or not?

Motor razzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing
Joe Luke I feel exactly the same way as you do about Football, so I (generally) stay away from football threads.

I should be glad to see the back of MS and am really pleased that his 'comeback' has been a failure.
Point taken LL, just expressing an opinion

I wouldn't complain if you posted on any football threads

Fair comment joeluke... each to their own.

Seen any more hilarious slogans on the carrier bags in your local Co-Op that you'd like to share with us?
I can't JL. I know nothing about football, except it's a lot of silly men kicking a ball around and hugging each other!! ;o)
LL....... I know nothing about F1, except it's a lot of silly men driving cars round and round and round and round and round........(and round) a track

Snags....the slogan was on the Co-op carrier bag recycling point actually

''the slogan was on the Co-op carrier bag recycling point actually ''

Detail... it was still hilarious enough to warrant its own thread, that was replied to by people who were interested enough to post on it... which is what AB is all about...

I would like to see Schumi give it one more season in F1, just to see if he can prove the doubters wrong.A lot has changed in F1 since his retirement, and there is no doubt he is finding it difficult, and driving a car that is currently not very competetive has made his comeback even more of a 'damp squid'.

At least Mercedes are now concentrating on their 2011 car, so hopefully Schumi will have a better season next year. One thing is for sure, if he fails next year, he will be forced into retirement.
thoeretically the thread is a success if another-view either responds or has a tantrum about it.

schumacher is very egotistical, I cannot see him leaving over that, he has driven this way for years and he still see's himself as righteous in doing so.
sorry teak but these days the doubters include the other drivers who just want to stay alive...

maybe he would be better suited to banger racing..

''just to see if he can prove the doubters wrong''

I see your point, but what, really, does Shuey have left to prove? His time has been and gone: if he is having problems with (and cannot adapt to) how F1 has changed since his retirement then should he be driving now?
Cazz & Snags, I do see what you mean, and agree that he has nothing left to prove.Personaly, I don't think he should ever have returned to F1, but now he has, I would still like him to do well next year.

He has always been a bit of a bully on the track, and his recent manouvre against Ruebens was crazy, but he is not the only driver to do the odd dangerous manouvre, vettel has puled off a few himself this year (although not quite as severe).

I don't think Schumi is going to ever win a WDC again, but I would like to see him get onto the podium a couple of times before he retires again.
sorry but schumacher ruined almost a decade of motor racing, it wasnt genius he was a cheat back then and a cheat now, he has not changed at all, the only difference is he has not got ferrari as his get out of jail free card.

this guy getting a podium would only fuel him to hang around longer, during the FIA ferrari years viewers switched off in droves, no one could win or argue with the FIA, ferrari wrote the rule book back then. I hope he skulks off
i would like to see Dario Franchitti get a F1 drive, 2 times Indycar champion(2007 & 2009) & currently sitting in 2nd position this year. And he is Scottish which is a bonus
isnt dario a bit long in the tooth now? I remember reading about him in formula 3 when I was about 16
he is about 36ish cazzz but he is still doing the biz tho' and is the reigning Indianapolis 500 winner
Jenson Button had the last laugh by making sure his car set up made it un-driveable before he was sacked to make way for a German driver. It seems that having a fast car goes a long way to helping even a 'superman' win.
