There are a lot of people on the site who complain about pretty much everyone and everything.

People love to blame everyone else for the country's woes - everything from Religion, Immigration, Single parents, bad Judges, Labour Party, Conservative Party, etc etc etc.

Obviously, it is easy to blame other people, but do people have any individual responsibility?

So to misquote JFK, why do you do for your country to make it a better place / help others?

Hmmm, what i do for my country is share my wisdom and way of thinking. I tend to put things in perspective...
I left, got fed up with being a Subject.
A subject?
I pay income tax - plus a plethora of other taxes.
a subject as opposed to a citizen is that?
A very good question. HAs made me think.
I live and let live.
I pay my taxes, obey the law, support my family, treat strangers with respect, take responsibility for my actions and keep my nose out of other peoples business.
It may not sound like a great deal, but it's more than alot of people can manage, so I'm happy with it.
I served the people of this country for ten years, in the Army, when it was a proper Army. Now, I stay on the right side of the law.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
Ric, Yes that's it mate. The Armed Forces and the Police All swear allegiance to Her M. the Q. not to our Country and not to it's Citizens which are, each and every one her Subjects.
like Lonnie, i served for 21 years in the Army

brionon, when the queen was crown in westminister abbey, she vowed to serve her people and country, that's how i interperated it when i swore the oath of allegiance ( I am a life long republican, Im not a big fan of the royal family)
brionon the police in Ulster and Scotland don't swear allegiance to the Crown.
