He will probably end up at Chelsea at some stage or another - everyone else does
What a stupid stupid decision to sack him.

He got them up two divisions in two seasons and got them in the premier league where I admit they have struggled.

However most teams who come up struggle and even if they went down they will still be better off than when he took over as you get parachute payments from the Premier League.

There was also a good chance they would go back up in a season or two, again getting all the money you get for being in the Premier league.

Other teams like Bolton yo yo'd between premier and championship for a few years before having a number of years in the Premier league. Also Wigan and WBA have yo yo'd.

Yet another example of a sad day for football.

Won't be Pep for a couple of years at least though, which must have come as something of a slap in the face for Mr Abramovich!
Awful decision and one that will have the fans annoyed for sure.

The fact that his replacement is already in says that this was a done deal some time back.

Most sackings you can agree with but this? Absolutely not.

I hope he gets stuck with that awful Benitez. Would serve him right for chopping and changing so much.
VHG, Wigan have never been a yo yo club, we've never been relegated from the premiere league, yet, been in a few relegation battles but alwyas managed to stay up.
Cant believe the decision to sack adkins though after what he's done for southampton, there's no loyalty in football these days.
Shocking

Southampton wouldn't be where they are now if it wasn't for Adkins, he was making a really good fist of keeping them in the Premiership - they were unbeaten in their last 5 league games including draws with Arsenal and Chelsea.

It's a bit like Forest's decision to get rid of Sean O'Driscoll when they were just outside the play-off positions and had just beaten Leeds Utd.

Ridiculously harsh, I hope they go down now. That's to spite their board, not their fans.
