Basketball - GB v USA

I remember playing basketball in my teens and absolutely loved it, but having watched some of this game last night, I was reminded what an awful spectator sport it is.

With the exception of anything to do with horses, is there a more boring spectactor sport?

Why is the game so popular with the Americans?

I totally agree about how boring it is, it's like watching a continuous video loop of just a few seconds play. Fine if you're competing, deadly dull if you're watching.
