How long is it since Test matches in England ceased to have the Sunday off?

I know in the mid 70s they used to have Sundays off but they have played Sundays for many years now- maybe for 30+ years?
Yes, I agree with FF......I think it was the early 80's when Sunday became involved.

Answers are probably right,might be something to do with Ted Dexter nipping off to France for Sunday Horse Racing during the Sunday Rest Day of a Test,frowned upon by the "Establishment".!!

Or the relaxing of the Sunday trading rules,not quite sure when that came about.
