Hearts 0 Liverpool 1

Probably as good a result as Hearts could have hoped for. Still a very slim chance in the second leg.

I thought Hearts played superbly, especially after the thumping they got from Spurs last year. They were the better team and were extremely unlucky to lose, although I suspect their chance is gone now. The atmosphere was absolutely rocking.
If that is all Hearts have to offer against a Liverpool Team consisting of mainly fringe Players then it does not say much about the quality of the Scottiish Premier League.
Goodbye Heart of Midlothian !
Jeez Redman, get things in persepctive a bit. The team relegated from the English Premier gets £32 million, the winners of the SPL get about £2 million, so the disparity is immense. Hearts had as many kids out there as Liverpool, who had many multi million pound players on show. I've no doubt Liverpool will prevail, but they were very poor at Tynecastle.
£87 million worth of "talent" on the pitch for Liverpool.
