I watched the recent programme on racism in Poland and the Ukraine and the Chief of Police was one of the funniest men I have ever seen. After watching pictorial evidence of hundreds of fans giving Nazi salutes he kept a straight face and alleged that they were "Only pointing at the opposition fans".

Lennon had his chance in South Africa but was more interested in smoking a big fat cigar. Check out the Opta stats and you will see Walcott is head and shoulders above Lennon, although neither are as consistent as we need. Downing doesn't inspire much confidence either,
