Seems as though they're at odds with each other and doesn't bode well for the upcoming European Championships. If they (FA) pursued this matter with Capello and he jumped, with Harry otherwise engaged at the moment it'd be utter turmoil, wouldn't it?

They'd manage.. wouldn't matter as they were not going to win anyway

Quite right towanwitch.

Whoever does get the armband has got a very hard job, what with all the disharmony and backbiting etc.

They used to say the England manager's job was the toughest in the world and it looks like the Captain's is going the same way.
Wouldn't it be nice for the England team to be able to go into an important tournament without all of the drama and palaver we have seen in recent times?

That way when they fall flat on their faces, the only excuses that can be believably trotted out will have to do with the team, as a whole, being over-rated and stuffed full of under-performing prima-donnas.
Haryy will not and never was going to get the job. The media want him to get the job so have promoted him, but hes got no chance.

The important word there is "may" Davies left the FA in 2006 so will have no idea about Capellos contract
I am not a Capello Fan but the to**ers at the FA should have had the decency to consult him about John Terry, he is the England Manager after all.
Nothing is imploding Philtaz not sure where you get these strange ideas from !
England will have a good chance of winning Euro 2012 in my opinion providing the right Squad of Players are picked to do the job.
And Spain get flu
England have no chance whatsoever of winning Euro 2012.
The best chance would be to get an English manager (not Redknapp) and some players from the Championship and lower Leagues (not the super stars from the Premiership)
That will never happen though, so look forward to Spain or Germany winning Euro 2012
Our players aren't good enough to win it regardless of who the manager is,who gets injured or is jailed.
Our press enjoys whipping up anti England stuff and would rather see us lose anyway ..So us realists won't be surprised when we get knocked out and the media will be happy.

At least we are going!
Arrange the words "stuff" "who" "a" and "gives" into the conventional order.

Sky's money has ruined the English game (and thus the national team) by allowing even hopelessly moderate clubs to import 'ready made' talent from abroad instead of developing their own - chuck in a few criminal oligarchs buying phoney respectability with teams full of mercenaries and we may as well give up and watch the cricket...
Oh please? not Cricket. We were good at that for five minutes.
England can win providing Capello is not manager and the FA put in a tempory manager or none at all. Also John Terry should not not play while he is being investigated for racialism - suspension does not interfere with trial, if brought. Both should be suspended. Steve Gerrard for captain and unbiased selection. Terry finished as international quality anyway but Capello cannot see this.

You sure it's not imploding Redman? It's certainly in crisis!
to say that it's imploding because of current events is like thinking that you need a new car simply because you've got a flat tyre

Yes good prediction Phil :)

In all honesty I'm not fussed either way, my interest in football has waned rapidly over the last 5 years. However, the FA have handled this latest episode in the whole Capello, Terry and captaincy issue overall in an appalling manner for a professional body and have done so generally for the past decade.
Well done FA! I stick to my earlier response but add Stuart Pearce as temp then permanent depending on results. Other premanent can only be Martin O'Neil. Terry cannot be allowed to play or we will not have a unified team.
Stevie Gerrard can inspire TEAM-play along with Pearce or O'Neil. Just watch future. Defo not Redknap!
betting suspended on HR according to Guardian website
What are the odds doing now, on England winning? Lengthening or shortening?

From BBC reporter:

Clearly Fabio Capello's reaction to the FA's decision to remove John Terry as England captain, and his decision to air his frustrations on Italian television, have been the final straw. I was told if Capello was prepared to back down then it probably would have been brushed under the carpet and he would have continued until after Euro 2012. It seems he has gone into the meeting, felt his authority had been undermined and could not continue. It has been a seismic shock for the England team and everybody involved in it.

More damning evidence of the ineptitude of the FA.
