I was married in Jamaica, I paid around �80 for my wedding shoes which were some sort of silk material.
AFter the traipsing across the beach & through the tropical gardens for the ubiquitous photos & video, then having done the dance with new hubby & him treading on them (all 16 stone of him) - they were about trashed. I put them in the bin in the cottage.
The next day the maid asked me if she could keep them. Of course I said she could, even though the fabric had come off the heels. She was absolutely thrilled with them - they cost more than her week's wages & she felt like Cinderella. The smile of her face was magical. It made me feel very humble....
