Hinduism is the religion, Hindus are the followers.

Although this religion is known as Hinduism and the followers as Hindu but it is more like a geographical description. Anyone who were born in that area (Indus) can be called Hindu. As for the religion right word should have been Vedic. But instead Hindu and Hinduism has been more known.
