Never really thought about this before, until it came up in a conversation today, but why are groups like ISIS attacking Europe and not Israel? Plenty of news coverage re: Paris etc but why Europe? Why arent ISIS attacking Israel?

I have to confess I resemble that remark.
Too much exposure to BBC reporting, which has a terrible tendency to be emotive where it is supposed to be just factual and neutral.
Compound that with Facebook and Twitter memes and a desire not to lose touch with relatives, friends, or the random strangers formerly known as 'followers', on Twitter, by failing to 'like' or retweet the things they send me and the net effect is a millisecond-quick reflex response to sympathise with the innocents who get, say, white phosphorous dropped on their school because the Hamas baddies have been using it as a safe hideout. Or their local hospital gets blown up, in spite of - or perhaps because of - use of a smartbomb.
So, despite myself, I have been impervious to attempted social media/BBC brainwashing and come out believing both sides are bad.

The answer to your question as to why ISIS are not attacking Israel is simple - ISIS are cowards. They don't attack "hard" targets as they know they'll be annihilated. They attack "soft" targets like unarmed civilians going about their business. Why? Because that is precisely what Mohammed did. He attacked civilian caravans, murdered them and stole all their worldly goods. Sometimes he spared the women and children so that he could enslave them and/or rape them. This is well documented in the Koran many, many times. The "raids" as they were called numbered in the seventies.
Mohammed taught his followers to strike fear into civilian populations by terrorism in order to make the subjugation of other easier to achieve. You know this because you have read the Koran. It's right there in black and white on the pages you worship:
"If thou comest on them in the war [against unbelievers], deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember." [Koran (8:57)]

Israel follow US foreign Policy, and that is to leave ISIS alone. ISIS are the primary threat to Assad in Syria, who the US (and therefore Israel) want removed, in the first place.

Israel has already bombed ISIS in Syria by plane. ISIS detonated two car bombs in Lebanon last Friday. If they can get a foothold there, that is within striking distance of Israel, and I suspect Israel would be forced to join the war which the US are against, because that would unite everyone else against Israel.
So short answer, the US does not want Israel involved, and ISIS do not wNt to take Israel on - at the moment.

An attack on Israel would just be another in a long line going back over 60 years. It wouldn't garner as much publicity.
