Today all earthly governments are facing destruction even at their own hands by highly developed scientific means of warfare. Well-informed commentators on world affairs are themselves warning all of us of the threatening eventuality.

A good and righteous JW would allow their child to die rather than give a blood transfusion. That was according to the JWs that visited me for a year and a half.

They did counter that with the fact that advances in blood use had been made because of them. They are OK with distilling the blood into component parts, such as plasma, red cells etc and infusing that rather than whole blood.

So in reality they still have blood just a bit at a time.

Many people today will not accept blood. For health reasons, they are requesting nonblood transfusion, , they are requesting what Witnesses seek primarily on religious grounds.

Though most surgeons have claimed that they gave blood only when absolutely necessary, after the AIDS epidemic arose their use of blood dropped rapidly.
Note, there are alternatives! This becomes understandable when you review why blood is transfused.

And this does not mean that they assert a right to die. They actively pursue quality care because they want to get well. They are convinced that obeying God’s law on blood is wise, which view has a positive influence in nonblood surgery.
I see goodlife is spouting his usual trash, the Psalms that he quoted has nothing to do with 119 69.70

It reads: 'The arrogant have forged a lie against me;
With all my heart I will observe Your precepts.
70 Their heart is covered with fat,
But I delight in Your law.'
And his interpretation of John 17-3 is wide of the mark.

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Not surprisingly, cut and paste now...really you must try harder, goodlie

I 1990 my wife and I lost a son 18 hrs after he was born due to scepticaemia that nearly killed my wife. 18months later we lost a daughter during the birthing process due to ineptitude.

She was born 15 weeks premature weight 1lb 8oz, she went through, numerous infections, collapsed lungs and vitally had blood tranfusions every three days for nearly 5 weeks until the patent duct in her heart properly closed.... by YOUR tennets of life she is an abomination and my wife and I are damned for allowing her to live....... Why? why does you wierd dark ages religion damn people for giving life, yet at the same time condone their followers strange sex parties, extortion and all sorts of other nonsense in the name of religion???
I won't hold my breath waiting for your response
ron - the answer to that is simple:

Why are there no Jehovah's witnesses in heaven?

Because God and Saint Peter are behind the gates saying, "Sssshhhhhh! pretend we are not in!!"

A Jehovah's Witness knocked at the front door here and asked if we would like to let Jesus into the house.

"Jesus can come in" my 80 year old mater said, "but you can f-ck off."

DT is one of many who doubt that God is really interested in revealing himself to humans. If he is, how does he go about doing so?

Well a humble person who puts forth this kind of effort will indeed be able to get to know God.

A passage in the book of Proverbs continues: “Jehovah himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment.”
Only, sincere seekers of truth can “understand righteousness and judgment and uprightness, the entire course of what is good.”—Proverbs 2:6-9.

What has taken place in our time really finds its pattern in what took place nineteen hundred years in the past.

What occurred back there fulfilled this rule about the reversal of the positions of the first and the last. Also, that fulfillment was an illustration of what was to take place in our times as a double fulfillment of this prophetic rule. Naturally, if you examine how the rule worked out the first time that it was applied, it helps us to understand what has occurred in the application of this rule during our day of strange happenings and surprises.

You are enabled thus to see who are the ones whose positions we in accord with history. Luke 18:18-30.
Glad to see you've reverted back to your 'cut'n'paste' regime goodlife. For a short time there I though you were almost going to actually answer the odd question instead of proffering the usual biblical tripe.
You can always tell when goodlife pastes from the Watchtower because it will use complete sentences.

He can't manage a coherent sentence on his own.

You know one of the speech qualities emphasized in the Theocratic Ministry School is logical, coherent development. This involves putting all the key ideas and relevant material in reasonable order. Also essential is convincing argument, which requires laying a good foundation and providing sound proof.you are a poor lot.
DTC Your mater was right
When I hear the prating of JW's I understand something of the problems Jesus had with people like Caiaphas and his ilk.

If you believe this goodlife, why don't you do it? If you don't believe it, why do you C&P it?
...After supper He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, saying,”This is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins. Do this, as oft as ye shall drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

If Jesus could shed his blood to save mankind I can’t see why JWs should object to doing the same.
Goodlife ! I asked you a simple question . " Tell me, were you made in God's image ? Gen:1: 26-27 " Why don't you answer it ?
Why not accept the blood as a gift from Jesus?
