I wasn't sure where to post this, so I hope its in the correct place !

What does everybody think of the powers of completely inert crystals to heal our many ills ? According to this site, crystals can cure pretty much anything from cancer to erectile dysfunction :::

Thanks Retro ! "One jewel short of a necklace"...I like that ! I may steal it from you but I promise to credit you if I do !

Did you notice that there is a section on "angels" in my link ! Completely potty!
mikey don't get me started on 'Angels' LOL!
erectile disfunction? How much?
you want to pay for it sandy?
For 'that' condition, I assume the crystals are used in the form of splints. ;o)
It's hard to know if the crystals would work. But if they did and were cheaper than the £10 a tablet currently being charged for Cialis they'd be worth considering.
Some crystals do have proven efficacy. Permanganate crystals, for example.
Retro, the history of a crystal (pressure, temperature, etc)is only relevant insofar as it determines it's structure, whether or not it has piezoelectric properties. Quartz doesn't acquire frequencies, the frequency is determined by its dimensions. This can be demonstrated by changing the dimensions of a crystal thus changing some or all of it's resonant frequency. If the piezolectric resonant frequency of crystals had any relevance to their supposed medicinal properties then crystal therapists would be more interested in this than their colour. Wood has piezoelectric properties too but presumably too low a frequency for such elevated creatures as humans, probably more suited to creatures such as gastropods or oligochaete worms.. :o)
jomilf you really have not got what I'm trying to say have you? copying and pasting from wiki is the worse thing you can do when you don't know your subject. The OP is discussing Crystals for Healing. Crystal Therapists believe different rocks resonate at different pitches and apply this theory to alleviate emotional problems and anxiety. It has very little to do with the colour of the stone. I doubt even the most quacky Therapist would claim to cure cancer, but the best ones will use crystals to try and balance the psyche and electrical flows in the body to give the body the best chance of recovery using it as a complementary therapy alongside mainstream medicine -this way if it doesn't work well its done no harm either. The Crystal 'healers' who claim to cure everyone and everything -well they can be dangerous and should be regulated.
Retro,
Point one, I haven't cut and paste anything, and I suspect that I know 'my subjec't rather better than you would like to think.
Point two, Crystal therapists can believe whatever they like however it doesn't make their theories any more valid, based as they are on a very limited understanding of physics.
Point three / the best ones will use crystals to try and balance the psyche and electrical flows in the body to give the body the best chance of recovery using it as a complementary therapy alongside mainstream medicine/ I'm beginning to suspect that you believe this c r @ p.

Can I stand up for Retro here Jom ?...I am sure he doesn't believe this drivel any more than anyone else.
Mikey, hopefully he/she will tell us and possibly apologise for saying that I had cut and pasted from wiki when I haven't as I don't need to.
More hippy drivel to con gullible usually middle class people out of their money, IMHO.
jomilf - You are very rude and seem to follow me around this site making crass remarks to my posts so am not qualifying your remarks other than to say those were not your words, and if you really want to know what my opinions are on Crystal Therapy I suggest you actually read what I've posted.
Mikey -you are quite correct and -I'm all woman lol! I'm getting a bit sick of jomilf who seems to have taken a dislike to me and has started following me around the site making sarcastic comments. Ho hum I'm off now to cast a few spells, wave a few crystals and swing an angel around my head in a graveyard ..not.... lol!
/I'm getting a bit sick of jomilf who seems to have taken a dislike to me and has started following me around the site making sarcastic comments./

Retro, don't be so paranoid, you joined this thread after me. It was you that accused me of condoning theft and cutting/pasting from wiki (in an earler thread) neither of which have any foundation other than in your imagination. Try to be a little more courteous please.
Retro, I just spotted this remark of yours

/(I) am not qualifying your remarks other than to say those were not your words./
That is a downright lie and you know it. You should be ashamed of yourself.
handbags come to mind calm down!

Play nicely girls !...please !
Retrochic - "... but the best ones [Crystal Therapists] will use crystals to try and balance the psyche and electrical flows in the body to give the body the best chance of recovery..."

Oh dear. Once you start talking about balancing the psyche of electrical flows in the body, you're in complete la-la land. The phrase, "the psyche of electrical flows" is nonsense. It is meaningless unscientific hogwash dressed up in pseudo-scientific language to fool the idiots of this world into parting with their cash.

As a person who claims to have a reasonable education, do you really believe the tosh you write?
It's all load of old crystal balls.
