They follow their own religion.
It's a unusual mix of Shia, Sunni and Zoroastrianism, with elements of Christianity and gnostism.
^ They're basically covering all the bases. You'd be gutted to reach the afterlife and find out you'd been worshipping the wrong god.

Not necessarily, ludwig. Life a good life and which of the many faces of God you honour doesn't really matter.
In my father's house there are many mansions. John 14:2
// In my father's house there are many mansions //

Mine's got a 3 bed detached. Well, two and a box room really.
"In my father's house there are many mansions. John 14:2"

How exactly does that equate to pray to anyone as long as your actions are good?
Question Author
ludwig, detached? That's posh. I have to do with a semi.

Henrietta, it's what you do in life rather than what you say(in prayers) that will weight the balance on judgement day
I think he's just saying there's plenty of room for everyone, not just one denomination, or even religion.
This is what i think also sandyroe as if there's a god why would he want to split, divide us and us fight/kill one another? Some of the most "At peace" peaople i've met have been those following religion, whether it was islam christianity hinduism or other but have noticed that they were calm at peace and were happy for life to throw drama after tragedy at them and yet they still remain steadfast and content taking these happenings to be from a higher power and out of their grasps to change the circumstances.

Has anyone else noticed this?
(Matthew 10:34-36) "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household." (Jesus, aka God to some).

The Devil can quote scripture for his own purposes
Anyone can quote from scripture for his (or her) own purposes, as is evident on these threads – such is the nature of ever contradictory scripture. However, in my case I quote for the purposes of enlightenment and education which, it appears, is very sadly lacking here.
Question Author
Oh I don't know. It sometimes seems that everyone here, apart from Goodlife and my good self, are enlightened. At least in their own eyes.
sandyRoe, I wouldn't presume to count you, as the master of the wooden spoon, as one of the unenlightened.
It's a curious complex faith where they worship a fallen angel (Lucifer, known as Iblis/Shaytan in Islam) - so militant Islam says they are heretics, but they believe that said angel was pardoned by God so is OK to be worshipped. I'd never heard of this religious group until all this trouble blew up. There's a bit about it in the final para of this article http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/who-are-the-yazidis-9662457.html

There's a germ of sense in that belief. If evil seems everywhere to be in the ascendancy perhaps the world and all who walk on it are in the realm of the Great Hornéd One.
Their own made-up one it would seem, just like all the others really.
// they worship a fallen angel (Lucifer, known as Iblis/Shaytan in Islam) -//

Wow, devil worship too. They really aren't taking any chances are they?.
Question Author
It does no harm to cover all the bases.
