Have the atheists and theists agreed to study war no more and live in peaceful silence? I've never seen it so quiet...

Wildwood, the pack of atheists that I confront here in R&S sometimes make me think I'm already in a lions den.
To answer you question, I'd be very reluctant. I want and hope to go to Heaven, but not for a while yet.
AB wouldn't be the same without you Sandy so please hang on just in case.
Funny how when the atheists are losing an argument they can only fight
back with abuse, they cant prove God dosen't exist yet blame him for everything that is wrong with their lives.
And for the other query about Daniel, read Daniel chapter 6.

If only people would heed what I say, rather than the engaging way I say it, they might just be a step closer to salvation. :-)
Cupid, What on earth are you talking about? Losing what argument? Like almost all people of religion, you have offered no argument. And what abuse? I can't see any abuse, but I can see reasoned argument in response to your irrational preaching. And where have atheists blamed your God for what's wrong with their lives? Since they don't believe he exists, that would be illogical.

Any chance of an answer to my question. or don't you have one? I'll repeat it for you.

//no matter how genuinely altruistic or morally upright a person is, that's what your God threatens [eternal damnation] if his narcissistic ego isn't consistently massaged by a trembling sycophant. Where is the love in that?//

So.... where is the love?

Strict love too has its place
jno, No Romans, no arena...?
@Cupid04 - “... [atheists] can't prove God doesn't exist yet blame him for everything that is wrong with their lives...”

You're absolutely right that I cannot prove that God does not exist. I also cannot prove that fairies do not exist at the bottom of my garden. Does that mean I should believe in fairies? Are you suggesting that people should automatically believe in things that cannot be disproved?

Your argument is one I have heard often. It is logically flawed and is completely fallacious.

Your comment about atheists blaming God for, “… everything that is wrong with their lives...” is so silly as to barely warrant comment. Naomi has covered this point but I would add that if you honestly think that atheists blame God for anything then you have a fundamental misunderstanding about what non-belief truly is.
The theists claim that Satan is behind everying that is wrong in their lives.
cupid04 // Funny how when the atheists are losing an argument they can only fight back with abuse //

What you describe as "abuse" is nothing more than accurate reporting of what is actually said in the Bible. Theists are intolerant of critical discussion of their beliefs because they are inevitably revealed as including primitive, fascist doctrine.

1. I challenged the theists in AB a week ago do give an example of derision or abuse of theists by atheists.....so far no reply
2. Show me an example of an atheist losing an argument with a theist.
3. Why do you assume that atheists have anything wrong with their lives. The fact that they don't feel the need to pray to an imaginary father figure surely indicates otherwise.
4. What would prove to you that god doesn't exist, you haven't any idea have you?

Faith sits snugly in some peoples hearts. If they don't try to impose their views on others, it's a good crutch to help them along this slippery road we call life.
Some believe, others don't, and never the twain shall meet.
I've come to see that I never will convert any of the atheists here in R&S. Still, it's a good place to come and argue the toss.
Sandy, for a moment I thought you said 'smugly' but it was a freudian mis--read. so snugly it is :-)
Cupid04: //Funny how when the atheists are losing an argument they can only fight back with abuse, they cant prove God dosen't exist yet blame him for everything that is wrong with their lives.//

I quite agree with you there. It is easy to blame someone for all the disasters etc it frees them from accountability.
To answer Naomi's question about where is the love of God - it is everywhere. If God had no love for mankind, the atheists would not be alive now. He is allowing everyone life and gives them a choice. He also gives to both the righteous and unrighteous if only they took the time to look and acknowledge just what he has given them.

As to diseases - a consequence of the imperfection resulting in death that was passed on to the human race by the sinner Adam. (Ge 3:17-19; Ro 5:12)
Truthabounds, I've committed many sins in my life and at some time your God, if He exists, will be having a word with me about them.
But I don't think He's going to blame me for tsunamis and earthquakes. Who do think is to blame for them? Is it the sinner Adam? Why have millions of people had to suffer because of him? I don't understand it. Would you grant that to an atheist like me it might appear very unjust of your God (sins fo the fathers etc.)?
No Christian of any cast has explained this to me in terms I can understand.
Can you do better?
Theists - Your so funny (not you Sandy)

Cupid on the 16th you came on here and insulted (or attempted to) the Atheists, where is your comback, your reasoned argument, you do what what the majority of you do run away.

Truthabounds your a cracker, "I quite agree with you there. It is easy to blame someone for all the disasters etc it frees them from accountability" This is the Theist argument in a nut shell, "it is gods will" Earthquake, Tsunami mass murder Its gods will - nothing to do with me. How you can attribute such an argument the the Athiest, yet again, underlines both your lack of intelligence and your paucity ot argument maybe you didn't cut and paste that.

I give Sandy his due, he stands by his argument with steadfast faith and always comes back, I obviously don't agree with him, but you cannot but admire a man who stands his ground. Unlike some here
