I am planning to travel to america for a month next christmas. Is there anything I should know before traveling there?

Also, can you send me as much information as possible about the american way of life. How they live, about their school system, everything?

Hope you can help,

Donald

You can usually turn right through red traffic lights if it is clear.

You get longer on amber traffic lights than in UK.

The ground floor is called the first floor.

You usually have to pay for your petrol before you fll up

Everyone expects a tip of at least 15 per cent of the charge. Even porters and bus drivers expect a tip even though the sign says you should not tip

Religion is not allowed to play any part in their government, the people in supermarkets are really friendly and would not dream of letting you pack your own shopping, on the freeway everyone drives at more or less the same speed on all the lanes ... they eat HUGE portions and the food is yummy. They don't have measures for their spirits so when you get a gin and tonic it can knock you out.
