Christmas is upon us again, and time for my annual thread remembering those we miss.

My dear friend, writer, film maker and all round brain box, Chakka35, who died in 2014;  Mikey, passionate about politics, always entertaining, and never one to take disagreements beyond the argument.  We fell out almost every day but we remained practically engaged!   And dear old AOG, always up for a lively scrap and a force to be reckoned with in the News Section.  All greatly missed.

And whilst I'm on the subject of missing people, sqad, I hope you’re doing well - and Emmie, if you’re looking in, it would be lovely to see you back here.

I wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and health and happiness in the New Year - and If you would like to add your own thoughts and your own special names to this thread along with your favourite Christmas music, please do.

I've posted this video so often those kids are probably about 45 by now - but never mind.  It’s Christmas!   Sing up children!

Much love,  x

Thanks Rosie.  The spammers have found this thread already.  Lucky I had my trusty custard pie at the ready!  Sperlatt!  : o)

Many thanks naomi for your kind felicitations. As a cruciverbalist I would like to remember Danny,Mac and Bryand from the previous years when crosswords were thriving and good fun with banter. A happy Christmas to all.

'Driving home for Christmas' would be my favourite Christmas song.

Happy Christmas.

God bless us, one and all.

No music from me ( I don't know how)but even though I'm a bit of a lurker on here I'd like to mention and remember Mrs. Overall. She was guaranteed to make me smile.

i'd forgotten how much i like that song sandy.

I had it at my wedding (in march!)

The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York (Official Video) (youtube.com)

I'm dedicating this to Ummmm who was a good friend to many.  I also remember Ecclescake.

I also hope Sqad is doing OK, since I know he was in a nursing home and not very happy about it.

I'm also sending my very best wishes to all ABers for a peaceful and joyful Christmas and a happy and healthy 2024.

And I still can't do links.

For Ummm and Eccles much loved and missed

Remember Jackdaw, Theland, Wendilla, Batsheba and others. Missing in action Baldric and Shoota. The place was lively but never uncivil.

Bathsheba bless her had the patience of Job. She had spent ages with many posts teaching me how to copy and paste. Now ,thanks to AB 'improvements', I, with a few other ABers can no longer post links.Hey Ho. We are landed with these wonderful e-mojis instead. 🤒

FredPuli - excellent posts on crime

AOG... Bathsheba... rational most of the time

I'll add Boaty, Nungate, Mazie and Owdhamer to the memorial mix please..

And Psybbo......xx

Thank you naomi, wish you and all ABers the happiest of Christmases.  Had many a spat on here, but at the end of the day we are all human and here for each other.

I particularly miss Nungate and her Mad Over Fifties Club, Mrs Overall with her wonderful poems and Ummm.

My song for Christmas is Fairytale of New York, already linked.

Have a lovely time y'all

I miss many of those already mentioned but I miss ummmm most of all.

There are many versions of this including a quite credible one by The Monkees. But this seems a more traditional verion.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Remembering Mamyalynne for all the help she gave with quiz questions, and Mrs Overall - a 'one off'.
