They have limited shopping to 80 items. That might sound like quite a bit but it's not when you have 5 adults in the house. I'm just thinking of shower gel, toothpaste, washing powder etc.

that does seem a lot, but then again i have an order in for just me and it's over twenty items, so i guess that
with 5 adults in the house it's not surprising.....
Then go to a different store.

Tesco has shown to be utterly dire in this situation. I have been impressed by lidl.
Who is counting? What if you’re shopping for lots of people who can’t get out?
I think that is pretty rough, it wouldn't be so bad if you could easily book another click and collect/delivery slot easily but as they are very hard to come by they are essentially punishing people who cannot get to the stores.
>>> Who is counting?

Presumably, the computer. i.e. tills will stop scanning items once 80 have gone through and the online portal won't allow customers to select more than 80 items per order.
Buenchico, I think that limit is only for on-line orders and not in the stores. Maybe it's so they can get more orders out to people as they only have so much space on each van.

It's an online order...

TheDevil - I don't have a car so am limited.

Tesco have been great so far though. It's not their fault people are booking up the slots.
Tesco have been fantastic what evidence do you have that Tesco have been dire
Great excitement here this am. Have finally got a slot for Tesco delivery!
My first time ordering online and nearly gave up.

I never thought I'd be excited about a food delivery!
We have Asda click and collect booked for next Wednesday. We told a couple of neighbours about it, who have added about half a dozen items each to our order.
I wonder if Asda will do the same as Tesco.
ummmm a pain but can you not place a second order either in your name or another family member.
At our local co op, security guard has arrived to limit people entering store, and 2 metre separation tapes have now appeared outside of entrance.

I was thinking that, Tony. I'm not over buying either. Just forward planning as we don't know how long they'll all be off work.

Normally I make their lunches, including 4 other people who don't actually live here, and I make a proper meal, that's a lot of spuds and veg.

Now they are home they boredom eat....

Luckily my local shop is well stocked so we won't run out of basic essentials.
ummmm ah well as they say "where there's a will, there's a way"
If so many are at home why can't they go shopping for you?
I was just about to post that but Naomi has beaten me to it! Indeed, send the "lodgers" out - there's no reason why you should have to do all the running around.
//We told a couple of neighbours about it, who have added about half a dozen items each to our order.//

How are you going to give them their goods and how are they going to pay you?
We will leave their goods (assuming they’re available) outside their front door after phoning them, probably in the plastic bags I believe are now being used. The neighbours can then do whatever they’re happy with about taking them in.
As for payment, we’re happy to leave it till after all this is over as they’re both good neighbours and we trust them, or if they insist they can put the cash in an envelope and leave it outside our front door and we’ll decide how to deal with it.
Ummm, how is your OH today ?
