I have just been advised by the library that this book I ordered weeks ago is now in. It was once recommended to me many years ago but I never did anything about it at the time. However I am having a lean time finding good reading material and wonder if anyone else has read and recommends this book.

Yes, I read it. Found it fascinating, thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a quick read but worth reading. Hope you like it .

Or do they mean it is possible for him to wear a suit ?

Thank you Daisy. I don't like rubbish books, a lot of which are best sellers. ie Jackie Collins trash. I only like books with a bit of meat on them ! Star of the Sea by Joseh O'connor is one of them - a modern classic if ever there was one and it was an International Best Seller in case you want to read it.
Suitable as a suitor, OG. I read this book many years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not to be attempted at one sitting! The story moves between characters, and this provides break points. An unexpected ending, too.
i read and really enjoyed this book - also really liked An Equal Music by the same author - there's a sequel due to A Suitable Boy but not until the year after next!
