Millions of people claim to be godless, atheistic, not committed to any god. But they contradict themselves by worshiping a national god. Since the American Revolution we have heard much of “the goddess of Liberty.” Or, the god or goddess may be this thing called democracy, people rule. Or, it may be the bitter foe of democracy, namely, international Communism. People will adhere to these political principles with a tenacity that amounts to fanatical religious devotion. Besides, each of the nations guards jealously what it views as its “national sovereignty,” just as though it were a god that must not be violated or lost. In some nations many people idolize a strong military establishment that will give the nation a position of strength from which to deal with other nations. Concerning the modern-day “king of the north,” it was long ago foretold.

I know what millions of people think too.... Will I survive today..without food...water...medicine... Don't think they have much time for god...of course you could go and share your mission maybe help in a practical way...I would think a benign god might like that approach...
If you took your blinkers off, you'd see that just because you find it necessary, or comforting, to adhere to a 'belief' system it doesn't follow that others fill this gaping void with a substitute.

Many of us find it quite possible to live our lives without the crippling need to look to a higher power, of any sort, for validation.

your blind too as naomi.
If you mean that Rowan and I (if your last comment was aimed at both of us) are as rational as naomi....I, for one, would take that as a compliment.
Goodlife, I think it may not be them that are blind, Im thinking maybe they are seeing life a little more realistically.

yes,People ancient and modern have had comparable activities, hopes, ambitions, and accomplishments. Even if in a human way, some individual made a notable name or was outstanding in beauty or ability, where is that person now? Gone and probably forgotten. That is not being morbid. Most people cannot even name their great-grandparents or tell where they were born and buried. You can see why Solomon realistically saw vanity in human undertakings and efforts.—Ecclesiastes 1:9-11
And your point, this time?

Sadly, the example mentioned above is no. Do the Newspapers, radio, and television report a happy world?
if he does start his own church he will be crucified
<<Sadly, the example mentioned above is no. Do the Newspapers, radio, and television report a happy world? >>

The world is covered in religion, it must be irksome for you that there are no pockets of 'happiness' which you can point to as existing purely because of religious harmony....

True,An estimated 300,000 young people were attracted to the American West Coast’s largest “rock” festival, which was held east of San Francisco. Mick Jagger, leader of the Rolling Stones and organizer of the festival, was thoroughly disgusted by the time the one-day festival ended. Four persons died at the festival: one was stabbed to death, one drowned, and two were run over by automobiles. Hundreds were treated for drug overdoses. Some spectators and musicians were roughed up. Said Jagger: “It was supposed to be lovely, not up-tight. What happened? What went wrong? If Jesus had been there, he would have been crucified
This thread is further evidence that Godlife/Elderman/TruthRebounds etc are nothing but robotic responders. It is a project designed to occupy the athieists in combat because there are too few of the faithful left to do the job.
Beso, 'TruthRebounds'. Haaaa! Love it! :o)
I wish football WAS a religion. It is there right in front of you, you can see it, you don't need to believe in it without faith, if a player gets kicked in the nuts he will fall down in agony just like a mortal, not float in the sky in an invisible form.
I have no idea what that Mick Jagger story has to do with anything. This is just random spouting. It's getting very tedious.
