I've been wondering..........What's the most precious or unusual thing the regulars have given up for a partner or friend!! Smoking? Sex? or something more shocking do tell all.

When me and the wife (excellant grammar!!) starting 'courting', I told her to give up smoking, or I was off. Took her 5 months!
More excellant grammar! It should say 'started'. Does anyone else think that what they type doesn't always appear on the screen?!
I gave up smoking for a loved one, but if i'm perfectly honest i gave up 50% for them, and 50% for myself because i felt unhealthy and no longer enjoyed it. It'll be three years ago this February, and i can honestly say i haven't fallen off the wagon even once during that time. It gives me a great feeling of pride to be able to say that! (i couldn't have done it without the patches though - best 200 i ever spent!)
I gave up smokin when I got engaged and was forced to give up watching The Simpsons, Futurama and various Sci-Fi TV series when we moved in togather beacuase it clashes with Hollyoaks/Corrie etc.

I am pleased to say that I have remained off the weed but we now have a new hous with a playroom where I can watch Star Trek whenever I want (plus we have Sky/Sci-Fi channel) Woohoo!
As you can see I also gave up on checking my spelling ;-)
Ive given up looking for love because I found it.
I gave up my home, job, independance (blood)family and childhood friends, and tacky as it is sounds would have given up more!

Don't Go There!...
I've given up eating bacon and tomatoes in the lounge wathing TV, my wife has an aversion to anything with seeds in, so the sight of tinned tomatoes makes her heave! In all our years together, if i have ever wanted to eat bacon and tomatoes, i cook it myself, and eat it at the dining room table on my own. Sympathy not required, I don't mind either cooking the meal, or eating alone, and I'm happy that the one thing she really detests is something I can so easily avoid subjecting her to ... now if it was listening to music .....!
Im giving up my Christmas this year, so that the girls in work can be with their kids. I've got all that yet to come, and besides, ive bought a Santa hat and some jingley earrings, so Im just going to make the most of it and try and make Christmas that little bit more special for all the ladies and gents in work. My boyfriend is also giving up his lie-ins over the hoildays to drive me to said job, and wont be able to drink, so that means alot to me too.
I gave up smoking and w**king to be with my loved one, cus I was on 20 a day and smoked like a chimney! Only kiddin I gave up amateur boxing to please the gorgeous little specimen i'm happy to say i'm attached to now ( albeit that's how I met her in the first place). I was training nearly every night and knocked it on the head to spend more time with her. I must agree with the learned Mr. Hughes though, you can take away a mans tomatoes but please leave the mans music alone!!!
..my brother. I slept with his wife. Stoopid and very, very regrettable.
My partner and I gave up sex once, (it was for lent) Never ever doing that again!! (watch the film 40 days, 40 nights, to understand how difficult it can be)
