Looking out the window , just saw a parcel delivery guy ( white van no logo - comes on the road often ) pulled up outside house over the road .

Gets a parcel out - goes to the house - Knocks on door - waits about a minute - drops parcel over the side gate to side of house .

Looks like it's been raining - looks like it going to rain again .

Perhaps that’s the delivery instruction from the householder if there’s no one in.

I wouldn't have thought so .

Cardboard Parcel left open to the elements ?
my neighbour just tells them to leave outside.... sometimes there there for days and get soaked. He seems happy
Did you take it to your house then?
Question Author
^^^how could I ?
I know thats for bazile but I use to take my neighbours parcels in but he felt embarrassed as theres so many, his away for days at a time and we kept missing each other anyway
It’s our instructions if we’re not in. The cardboard boxes are very robust, not ever had a problem with any spoilt contents.

Right
You appear ro be concerned enough about the parcel to query why it was left out given the liklihood of its raining.

Why could you not leave a wee note for your neighbour explaining your concerns and telling them you have their parcel?
a lot of delivery driver have to use their own vehicles sometimes, yodel for one hence no signage

//Why could you not leave a wee note for your neighbour explaining your concerns and telling them you have their parcel?//

I haven't got their parcel
I had some crystal glasses delivered yesterday. I tracked the package til he was 2 stops away and then waited at the gate since I was terrified he would just lob them over the gate like they often do. Or worse, lob them into the neighbour's garden (and he is away for weeks at a time and the gate is locked).
I know you don't have their parcel but as you're concerned about its being outside with rain likely, you could collect it and keep it out the rain.

^^^how would I get to it ?
// drops parcel over the side gate to side of house //

If the intended recipient of an on-line purchase does not take responsibility of arranging collection from the courier, are you expecting the courier to return the parcel back to the depot?
"^^^how would I get to it ?"

No idea.
Question Author
^^^So why say I could collect it ?
why not ask the delivery man to throw you over the fence too, Bazile :-)
Question Author
He might hold me in the wrong place :-)
You seen the parcel being dropped off and you were concerned about it getting wet.

Had I seen it and had similar concerns, I would have taken it in unless impracticable for me do so.

You had not hinted at anything preventing you from doing the same, hence my questions.
