Hi, Can anyone help. Just bought a load of wool from a well known auction site only to discover it smells really badly of cigarette smoke. I could send it back I suppose but if possible I would like to keep it. So can anyone suggest how I can remove the smell from balls of wool without damaging the yarn. Thanks in advance

Not sure but I know that some sellers on Ebay state that what they are selling comes from a 'smoke and pet free home'
I can recommend "Neutradol" spray. It seems to absorb the smells and leave a slight hint of eucalyptus. Try it on a small peice first to check it doesn't cause problems with the wool.

pure wool (aran) has a slight sheep smell wrap it in sandalwood/lavender/heather or spray with perfume.
