Actually Robinia I believe drawing may possibly be the one thing the penclic mouse isn't good for - it looks like a pen but it is just an ordinary mouse. I looked at reviews before buying it and I seem to remember one of the reviewers saying this, although I don't recall the reason. I think perhaps it had to do with how very sensitive the mouse is - you set out to draw eyelashes and find you've created antennae. This sensitivity is great for most purposes as it means you hardly have to move the mouse at all to move the cursor from one end of the screen to another, but for drawing - I'm not sure? But then I can't draw, either way.

Hang on, Derby, I just found that review, their complaint was that there was too much friction from the base of the mouse while drawing and even while highlighting text, but I don't find that to be true at all when using one of those hard plastic mousepads with an ever so slightly abrasive surface, know the kind I mean? Still, wouldn't you be better off with a graphics tablet?

Tomato products "keep the prostrate away" too, Vinny. There's a Swedish health doctor who was interviewed on the radio and they asked him what he made a point of eating every day and he said ketchup, of all things. I'm not so sure about the health benefits of all that sugar but I think his point was that the prostate goodies develop when the tomatoes are somehow prepared. / How are those wind power stations coming along that you posted a long time ago?

Would it be possible to harness Jude somehow and transform all that energy to heat our houses and run our washing machines...?

moo

Oh yes, the weather report! It's... erm... dark? (I'll write more another day, I promise.)
Bloomin eck..(((*)*)0) .I just got.the temperture..frum stockholm..3.C
(:O)
Jude, I'd have thought for a woman who can do dance steps negotiating a few squares would have been child's play...keep trying, you sort of get your brain trained the more you do....honest

shhhh Kit don't talk to Vin, he's just said to ignore him :o)
Yes, T's told me about some pen thingummy for drawing, I'll ask him again...not that I'm a great artist but it's in the genes somewhere. Me & my sister only found out in Dec that (before he met my mum) our dad had taught himself to play the piano & we had no idea....funny old life - as he who must be ignored would say. :o)
I'll listen to your poem later, right now I'm in the mood for dancing....shame my body's not in the shape for it. It's so funny what you stumble on in YT by accident - I was looking for the Smokey Robinson version but this is brilliant....

yo

apologies for any poor grammar, I'm tired & typing as I think :o)
yikes! Vin's drugs are good...he's tuned into the vibes of my mowtown
<sticks nose out window> yup, +3C seems about right. ("Just got the temperature from Stockholm" - just how many Stockholm biddies does he know?)

Yes that was brilliant, Robinia! / How sad and strange that your father never played the piano again...?

Well ..it's all happening .. Vinnys on the woodbines and Jude is on the Horlicks ....I'm on the Golden Syrup and most of my washing is in Derby ..what a wet and windy night last night and it's nearly as cold as Sveeeden .

Sorry to hear about your Mum Woofie ....
No more games please ...still on level four ....Geneva is now in America and that man with the wastepaper basket has fallen off his chair ....backwards ....
Good eeeeevening Shaney, I've got a game where the pizza delivery boy has to hurl the pizza across the room as vigorously as possible, want me to post it? No I'd better not, I almost broke my keyboard the one and only time I played it...

Robinia's dad reminded me, I was veeery old before I knew that my dad and his two brothers had actually had a fourth brother who had died when still a baby. It was no secret of any kind, some things you just forget to mention I suppose when you have several kids - you don't remember what you told to whom. Another thing I learned late in life is that in a way my father probably feels he killed his mother (although he probably doesn't "admit" that even to himself.)

The story is she'd been in love with a particular house forever but they couldn't buy it or perhaps it wasn't even for sale, I dont know. Then one day it was put out for sale and my father, now a young man, bought it for her. He told her about it in the evening and during the night she died in her bed. The way he tells it, the story is what a shame she never even got to go there, but I'm sure he must have felt as a young man that maybe the excitement was too much for her - he has dwelled on her excitement the few times he has told the story. Sad innit.

Well good night.
Dare I admit this - I'm still on level 2!! but don't sit here all day, so that's my excuse!!!!
take 2, grrrrr

<ignores sweti's remark>

morning breezies....anyone seen my hairnet, the best pink one with sequins?

ooh Kit that gave me goosebumps but if it was her time to go she had her lovely dream to take with her. It's like the theme for a book, there are so many different paths it could have taken.

Happy Mothering Sunday...whether you're a mum or not!

breakfast!

Oh Kit that was so tragic yet somehow so sweet. She must have been so happy, she had achieved her dream.

<Mothering Sunday???> not here it ain't!!

Have been on a very hot and large patio, bleaching all the summer furniture in preparation H (ooops, sorry got carried away for a mo) for summer. It's gorgeous out here today and Mr N is playing golf and at 4pm we are off for lunch.
Morning all another snuffly day for me will it ever go I ask myself.
Kit I have to admit the Jeff Buckley Soliloquy. You don't know how close you came to me! Not the the poem entirely.

Happy Mothers Day to all who are Mums. My son sent his card to the wrong numbered house would you believe must have had a drink or something!!! My other son will come this afternoon I expect, he usually does.

I'm up to Stage 17 and I will keep trying. Yes Robi I see your point and I am getting a little bit more used to it and how you have to move to make it work. I've got to the stage where I count the squares and moves before I press the arrows. LOL.

2 good films on tonight 'Chicago' and 'The Green Mile' I think Stephen King may win for me.

It's a lovely sunny day here and I have got my washing out on the line. That's the third time this year. Love to see it doing a Bob Dylan!! Hope you get that!!

That's all for now see yer later gater(s) :o)
Hi there jude, sorry you are still a bit sniffly. I'm still on level 2 but can't be bothered with it. I love the backwards one which Kit posted. Has to be "The Green Mile" to watch, it is brilliant so touching, much better than Chicago.
thank you Barry Norman for your opinion...haven't you got some pebbles to scrub or sommat?

hope you feel better soon Jude I rang my sis & she's full of cold this morning & she's not very patient with illness....

game...teehee

(I've found 5 on the rooftops....waiting for son no2, he never appears until the sun's setting)
Mothering Day!!! So soon!!!!!!!!!!

Answering Robinia's question: We do talk about the weather every bit as much as the British do. Don't know why I don't talk about it on here, it could be because it's often so very similar to some other weather report that's already been posted by one of the biddies - I do suspect we have more or less the same weather as you, even all the storms and gales we've had recently - they take a couple of days to get here but I know where they come from...! This winter it's been raining away, hardly any snow at all. My little park is a sea of mud. Suppose this is the British image of Sweden...? ...but it's been quite a while since I saw anything like that. But this is a very elongated country so there are huge differences from the north to the south when it comes to snow and ice. I remember one year a long time ago while I was still living down south and the temperature was exactly the same on Midsummer's Eve as on New Year's Eve - that was weird.

Did y'all know there's an indigenous people called the Sami who live in the north of Sweden (as well as in Finland, Norway and Russia.) The Sami languages aren't even remotely comprehensible to those of us who aren't Sami. My guess is they sound as foreign to me as the American Indians sound to a non-Indian American.

spellbinding sami song

Their traditional style of singing is called the yoik; there's a Wikipedia entry about it if you're interested. I'm pretty sure jno used the word yoik at one time, but I suspect it's not well known to most of you or is it.

Ha ha, re-reading that it sounds like an insult directed at the biddies! "... not well-known to most Brits..." would have sounded better.

My red man (trying to hit the wastepaper basket) says "This game is rigged!" I totally agree.
