Why do people shop at Tesco?

Their ethical standards are low when it comes to competition and animal welfare etc. Their advertising suggests they sell cheap crap to idiots who don't care. The funny thing is, you can get cheap crap else where for less! So why Tesco?

Agree with tiggerblue - sweatshops provide the ultra-cheap clothing.
Think you've got a good thing goin Goodsoulette - you can't beat fresh food that hasn't been tampered with.
You're also right about the chickens. If you see pre-packed ones with red bits round the joints, etc., it's because the poor things've been standing or laying in urine, which's literally burnt through to the bone.
As for halal meat, I hate the thought of what the poor animals have to endure in order for people to eat, but at least it's as it comes, & not injected with water to make it look "fresher".
Tesco in Guildford now sell halal meat!
We don`t have any corner shops near us & even if we did, most people could not afford to shop there. I find that Tesco is great for shopping in. I can get everything I need grocery wise there. The staff are fantasic & will go out of their way to help. There is a Somerfield near but that is terrible. The staff are ignorant & if you ask where something is, you get a vague "Over there". Even when we holiday we look for Tesc to buy our groceries from. The standard of the staff is excellent from north to south.
