Where Do You Shop?

For food and groceries where do you go and why?
Purely out of interest. After buying my first home my spending has had to be re-evaluated and savings made at every opportunity.

I now shop at ALDI. For frozen food, tinned food, pasta, rice, meat ready meals, milk, drinks etc..... It is excellent no frills value. However the fruit and veg is poor quality IMO so I still go to Tesco/ASDA. Special occassions I will nip to M&S. I have calculated that I save approx £80-£100 per month on food now compared to when I was living at home and rarely questioned my spending habbits.

II shop at Asda. No Aldi around here, but there is a Lidl. I find ASDA cheaper than Lidl, though. When I shop online, ASDA does a price comparison, I usually end up with £15 back in my account, although last month they gave me back 48quid! Bargain

I go to Tesco because it's on the doorstep, we also have a Lidl but I rarely go in there as it never has any of the offers that they post through the door. I'd like to go to Aldi's but the savings made would be more than wiped out by the cost of fuel to get there. I really don't find Asda cheaper, if there was a local Sainsburys I'd shop there.

We always shop at Morrisons.We find the prices are good and they have some good deals. No Aldi round here unfortunately.Ive never been in one, but id like to see what they do.

We have Aldi, Iceland and Home Bargains, plus a Pound shop.

Aldi and Lidl for the weekly shop and I'll pop into the local ASDA in the week for milk, veg etc. Lidl's meat is very good

If I need to shop after work,it's Aldi's or Lidl's. Lidl's are good for meat-their beef mince (NOT steak mince) makes the juciest burgers),and their chickens and belly pork are both good. They also have some quite decent veggies.
The cat and dog both like Aldis own pet food.
If I am in the city centre,it's Sainsbury's,and some times Tesco. I also have Co-op and Iceland nearby. Any other supermarkets require a long bus ride.

We don't have al ALDI, but LIDL's vine tomatoes are the only ones with any taste.
I like their Deluxe range.

Tesco and Co-op, both on doorstep and our younger son a manager in Co-op!

most of the basics from Birmingham market e.g 5lb of bacon £6.00 large country life spreadable two for £2.20 mixing bowl of tomatoes £1 etc rest of the shopping mostly sainsbury, the stuff I can't get there Waitrose or specialist shops
Save a huge amount of money doing this and still have the luxuries

Tesco, for bits and pieces as it's only half a mile away, if we go into one of the larger towns it tends to take all day as we have to go into every shop in town just in case it's got something in that we might need.

I'm lucky enough to also have tesco and sainsburys on my doorstep. I buy my meat from the butchers, cut just the way you like it. Sometimes you pay a little moe, but it is worth it for fresh meat! I haven't used Sainsbury's since they stopped doing fresh custard doughnuts 15 years ago, and only shop at Tesco for top up bits

I get a Tesco delivery around every 2 weeks. I also go there as its the nearest to me. When I'm at work I'll go to Sainsury's for top ups and sometimes M&S when I feel like it. I have 3 Lidl's near me but I've had a few bad experiences with them so I'd prefer noty to shop there. I'd like to try an Aldi but there isn't one near me.

I have an embarrassment if riches within a five mine radius - Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Aldi, Lidl, Iceland and the co-op all within easy reach. I stick to Asda as I work there and get a 10% discount and there's a pretty good choice

Usually Tesco in the city centre - mainly the little ones but we have a slightly larger one where things are cheaper and they keep stopping doing the cheaper and own brands in the little ones.

I love Morrisons though it's a faff to get to. I go up to Asda every now and again, as easier to get to, to get a treat like chicken wings from the hot chicken counter or deli ham.

I did shop in Aldi for some bits but I find it's not as cheap (comparatively) as it was for lots of things and our city centre one is not very disability friendly so not been in for a while.

We have a giant Tesco just down the road, food ,clothes, electricals diy, decorating you name it.

Morrisons and Lidl. Not a lot of choice we only have Morrisons and Lidl, apart from Tescos, which I can't stand. But I must admit I do love Morrisons and am glad that we have it. Hate Asda with a vengeance. Lidl's veg are usually very good quality.

En route to ALDI now for the "big shop". We have one within a mile of us, I agree that I may not use lots of petrol to seek an ALDI store out, for us however the store has proved a big saving without compramising on quality (fruit and veg aside). It is very no frills though (kind of like shopping in a high street branded store for clothes then going to primark) but needs must at the moment!
