Hi all - I think my old 32" Sanyo HD-ready TV is on its way out, so have had a quick look at a couple of 40" models, links below. Obviously, there are many more out there to choose from, but I would appreciate any input on those I've looked at (literally the first 2 I saw) & any suggestions pointing me towards anything similar.

My only "must-have" is a headphone socket - I'd also like 3 HDMI ports. I really can't go over £300 or 40" & I would need delivery which is why I started at Currys.

Thanks for your time & attention :-)

If you have a Costco near you (and if you're a member of course !!) this might be of interest : https://www.costco.co.uk/Electronics-Security/Televisions-Projectors/Televisions/Sharp-LC-40FI5012K-40-inch-Full-HD-Smart-TV/p/301780

My next TV will be a smart one which can accomodate Plex etc. I think there are few TVs without audio sockets.I have cheap wireless headphones and transmitter for mine in order that my volume is controlled by me and doesn't upset the wife or neighbours.

fbg - thank you, but I've ordered the JVC now.

retrocop - thanks for your input - I too have cheap wireless headphones, for the same reason as you - not disturbing the neighbours (toddlers there, not fair to have loud TV through the wall & I can continue to listen if I leave the room), that's why a 3.5mm output was a deal-breaker for me. I've just looked Plex up (hadn't heard of it) & am frankly still unsure what it (or Roku etc) is & whether it's something I'd need? If I'm right, probably not... Ah well, always moving on, we'll see :-)
i bought a linsar? 32inch tv who are made by vestel, but sold over here as linsar, and imho the screen is bad, washed out colours compared to my 4k samsung, it is a few yrs old, so perhaps they have upped there game in tv panels since then.

Fender - ah, ok - I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your set, but before I take delivery, I can only go with what I see as a pretty decent box. If I'm wrong, it goes back & I find something else - life's too short... :-)

Hi all - I just *know* you're all keen to know about the new TV ;-)

Arrived this morning 8:20, just finished setting it up (piece of cake), what took the time was taking all the books off the shelves so that I could move the bookcases, then replacing them all.

The set looks fabulous (gosh, it's big after my last one!), the picture & sound are superb & while I've lots left to explore & play around with, I think I'm going to be very happy with the set - fingers crossed... :-))
