Yes I would like on all the time - every time you go to post.
Now you've lost me.
You want to receive emails when someone posts on a subscribed thread?
Question Author
no, I want to be subscribed all the time - then it is my choice when I want to take it off - you you know the little right Subscribe Report line
stayed logged in?

i'm reaching here but that's the only little tick i can think of.
You can't do that. You have to click on it.
Jenny, do you mean the subject I posted about in Ed's Blog?

If so Auntie said they will look at it,if you mean something else I'm sorry.
There's a general move away from having boxes automatically ticked for online services. It has come about because the Consumer Contracts Regulations (which came into effect 6 months ago) now mean that online traders can't charge for pre-ticked items. (e.g. airlines are banned from offering pre-ticked insurance and then charging for it).

While free services, such as AB's 'subscribe' option, aren't covered by the new legislation, many websites are now removing pre-entered ticks from option boxes anyway.
We used to be able to go into our profile and tick the box so that we automatically see our own threads in the 'subscribed threads' box whenever it was posted on and get an email.

Now ticking that box doesn't work. It is quite a recent thing and it's a nuisance as I also forget to tick the 'subscribe' box after I have posted
There are quite a few things that need fixing around here, Hc4361. (For example, the Ed has been promising to fix the badges system for over a year).

I think that it's probably because AB's techie has now moved up to secondary school and is getting more homework, so he can't keep finding the time to sort things out for the Ed ;-)
I guess the compromise it to have a setting in our profile to say, 'auto subscribe to own threads'.

Then we need another to say whether we want the first tick-box defaulting to ticked or unticked.
What !! - you mean the Ed doesn't run the site on his/her own ?
Lazy is the word that springs to mind
