I'm old and fusty now and it has been a while since I've been to a Hen Do, so I may be out of touch......

Is it normal for the Hen Do to be held 2 3/4 months before the Wedding?

don't see why not - especially for the current tradition of a "hen weekend" or a "Hen holiday"
makes more sense than the eve of the wedding
There are no normal hen do's.

It just seems to me, that an opportunity for folk who may not know one another will have forgotten who is who by the day of the wedding.

I'm not one to talk about hen nights though, mine involved just me a and a pal having a pizza or some such casual meal!
I went to one once. We were having drinks in a hotel. The ordered stripogram turned up and was dressed as a fireman. The hotel staff rushed over and pointed out that no clothes were to be removed as there were other guests around. We sat him down and asked what he really did and he told us he was really a lorry driver from Chessington. That was about as exciting as it got.

The organisers are arty-farty media types........I sincerely hope their creativity extends beyond strippers and pink Stetsons!
On a hen night, there's always a (slight!) risk of getting injured, coming round in Aberdeen, etc.

So it's best to not have it too close to the day of the wedding.

I went on a hen weekend years ago, the weekend before the wedding. The bride stepped awkwardly on the edge of a kerb, fell into the road, and broke a bone in her foot. She got married the following weekend with half her leg in plaster. Inevitably, the groom maintained that it was our fault.

So two months plus is probably a good idea.
Hi EC...If the folk are, as you have described them, then the answer to your question is :-

ps.

Although the creativity might extend BEYOND pink Stetsons, it should obviously INCLUDE pink Stetsons.

Jayne, there isn't enough Grey Goose in the world to get me into a pink Stetson.........a silver one smothered in sequins might be a possibility though......
"Pink Bloody Stetsons"....................I ask you...........
But ... it's a hen night ...
JJ...but men don't have "Cock" nights...................................do they?;-)
But they do have cock-ups, Sqad
Good point, they should be called 'Doe Parties' - never been to one and never had one.
They do in Brighton sqad....
I don't envy you, hen nights are the one thing I refuse to take part in. Matching outfits, stupid stetsons and Jagerbombs, no thanks.
Psybbo....I suppose nowadays it would be difficult to tell a "cock up" from a "hen night" particularly it is likely that it would be the men that wore the "pink Stetsons."
urghhhhh hen nights and pink stetsons, double urghhhhh
When you order them, they're not called Jagerbombs. They're called ...

Jaaaaageeeeeeeeeerrrrrrr Wooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
