Not any more, no.
Wogan I mean.
Some years ago, it was revealed that he not only had a fee negotiated by his representative but he took it. When this became public, his ungracious reply was that the cameraman got paid, so why should he not be.

Given the bad publicity from that, it is unlikely that celebrities on Children in Need take a money for appearing, whatever their agents, looking for a percentage, say. The benefit for them is the PR one, of looking good to the public (which is not to say that they wouldn't volunteer to help a charity)
Is the Pope Catholic?
yeah, mega-lots...I think

think of large number and then multiply by Beeb !

The Celebs some do and some dont and some give it to Chariddy
I thought Charlotte Church did that (the latter)

as they draw their cheques, do they feel a sense of irony hollering about St Sprogwarts raising £124.96 and a few buttons ?

nope they dont
Oh if you are going to give,
give direct and dont forget Gift Aid - the tax relief

I like Aspire - the one that does cyclists with broken necks...
no no really there is one....
Gift Aid is important. There's a slight snag in people like Wogan giving to charity. In the UK, he'll be taxed, for this year, at 45% on income. The gift aid gets the charity the basic rate, 20%. Having it so the charity got the rate appropriate to the donor would be excessively complicated. But, unlike in the US, he can't claim tax relief on his gift. So HMRC win something, as they usually do.
Ever since I discovered Wogan got paid for it Ive never given another red cent to CIN, nor will I.
Will probably be shouted at now but I can't stand Tess Daly.
Whilst I'm happy that celebrities such as Terry Wogan work without drawing pay now I'm not sure where the idea of working for nothing should stop. Should the cameramen who work tonight be expected to work for nothing? The staff in the BBC canteen? The cleaners? Where do we draw the line?

So would Butch Cassidy!
I would do it for nothing , if only I could find a wig that didn't look stupid.
Did Jeff Chandler wear a wig?
Fred - Gift Aid is a brilliant source of income for charities, but I was advised (by someone who should know) that higher rate taxpayers have the higher rate claimed from HMRC. :-)
I think he did after he was scalped in one of his early westerns.

Thanks , wolf. That will be why there's a section on my income tax form asking how much I have given to charity. I thought it was just a check to see whether the figures from the charities bore any resemblance to what people said they gave, but, thinking about it, your answer makes a lot more sense.
