Birthday present for boyfriend

I'm a bit stuck on what to give my boyfriend for his birthday.

I'm taking him for dinner at a nice restaurant and possibly the cinema before. I had originally wanted to buy him a nintendo wii, but they're out of stock. I've thought about buying this for him at a later date, as I know he really wants one. But would still like to give him something small on his actual birthday.

I've now bought a wallet and a nice chrome key ring as options, but don't know which to give.

I could have the key ring engraved, but am stuck on what to say.

HELP please.

Why not get him a game for the Wii and make a pretend voucher which he can exchange with you when they come in stock?
