Homemade crimbo table decoration
Can anyone suggests any ideas to make a table decoration for crimbo dinner, I'd really like to make one this year with my little girl, the old ones looking a bit tatty & can't afford a new one anyway, I've no idea where to start or where to get anything from to make it with, that's as inexpensive as possible! Not too bothered about it looking posh, i kinda like the homemade look when my 4 yr old helps (you should see our homemade window decorations!), any ideas welcome, thanks

when we were kids my mum used to wrap a place mat in tin foil, trim it with tinsle, put a candle in the middle and quality street on it, we loved it, and it always looked brilliant.

you can buy 'make your own ginger bread house' in tesco, asda and other stores, their really cool, easy to make the ginger bread is already baked etc, you just have to do the fun stuff, piece it together, ice and decorate it with swwets, your daughter can add her own artist flare, it will keep well and can be of course eaten and a new one made each year, a good tradition to start.

You can do wonders with a dish and a bit of oasis. Go out for a walk and cut sprics of holly, ivy, twigs and leaves, fir cones etc or any greenery from the garden. Paint PVA glue on the twigs and let her dip them in glitter then push the greenery into the oasis. She'll have great fun (and you can always tidy it up a bit when she's gone to bed - they never notice)
