Don't make a Christmas pudding I'm afraid but I do like this traditional collect for "Sir up" Sunday, which I believe is so called because the collect begins with the words "Stir up". I believe it has been eroneously attributed to the day when families traditionally used the day to stir up and make their Christmas puddings.
I just wish we could get rid of so much of the blatant commercialism and spending greed which surrounds Christmas these days which is making Christmas such a cynical festivity for so many people.

Thanks for that, Mustafa. I have written it down and it will be said when we make our Xmas Puds in the coming week!!
I agree with you wholeheartedly, Whoever, this excessive commercialism that we see today can and does tend to spoil the spirit of the festivity.
