If you did not try to start the car and the rescue vehicle towed it to a garage, there is a very good chance of a relatively cheap repair. i.e. drain the tank, remove it for a clean, clean the filler pipe.

The moment that the petrol enters the diesel engine the engine could be a write-off. No warranty will cover you for this.
the engine will not be a write off. It will need some repair though.
