watch despicable me
No moonlight for sure.
There was a programme on TV about this a few weeks back, it was really interesting. The suggestion was that the pull of the moon keeps the earth on track - if it went, the earth would start wobbling about on its orbit.
Here it is - it was a good prog http://www.timeshighe....asp?storycode=415157
no waves
you would still have waves as they are caused by the wind, I think you were referring to tides which are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon
Awwwwww, I'll wave to you 4getmenot. :)

Songwriters would have to look for more inspired rhymes for June.

tides
I presume that there would still be tides from the gravitational pull of the sun.

what would the cow jump over?
The moon is slowly moving away from the earth but I should't worry as this is not a threat of the moon disappearing for centuries if at all. The moon cannot diappear except via a massive strike from a super-sized meteorite which would be so large that it would probably destroy the earth's orbit. No tides yes. No evidence for the sun effecting tides.
There would be no cheese
