I have Nieces in OZ falling out, My nieces falling out with their Parents over here, It does annoy me to see this happening, on saying that I have cause to dislike my only surviving Brother! Why? Stole some money from my Mother that has Dementia, so in that case I think I've a cause.

That's the way of it sometimes. I have a sister who has sticky fingers.
Maybe it's time to forgive your brother.

We are human, some people do things that hurt other people, I'm sure their minds give them plenty of grief on a regular basis.

Morn Ummmm, I can never do that Ummmm, I'm not a Hypocrite but you can not get any lower than steal from your own Mother, I have some very strange ways in my life, but this is not one of them xx

I think it depends on the reason, TWR.
Not saying he was right but he must have been up against it ,and who's to say your mother would not have given him the money if things had been different .People fall out nine times out ten it's money related ,we will all get enough but nothing is worth remorse if forgiveness is not offered before it's to late .

Greed, nothing else.
It is so sad when families fall out. Life is too short. But sometimes you just can't do anything about it. My sister, to whom I thought I was very close, stopped speaking to me the day after our mother's funeral, 25 years ago. To this day I have no idea and she will not say.
I'm getting to be a real agony aunt this morning .you mentioned your sister not speaking for no reason ,maybe a false reason was given behind your back .There are people who would do this for no reason other than to cause hassel not say this was the case but you never know
you think you have a reason to keep your distance from your brother.

your nieces believe they have a reason not to speak to their parents, and so on and so forth.

That's why families fall out.
People are people. Just because they're a relative is no guarantee of them not being a complete Richard.
No point in fretting over them and upsetting your own life.
You can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family – and all nasty people are members of someone’s family. I don’t go with the life’s too short to fall out argument. Life’s too short to fret over horrible people. Best ditched and forgotten.
I was going to post exactly what Naomi has. Before she died my mum used to try and keep the family together but underneath we all disliked one another for some reason and now ahe's gone we tend not to bother. It's not a given that one's family are always nice loving people.
You tell me TWR - my brother has shunned me since my beloved Mum's funeral back in Sept. and I have NO IDEA why. Mum and Dad were obviously the glue that held us together and until their deaths, I would have said him and I were close. Very sad for me.

Interestingly my wife's family were just the reverse of jambutty's - mother told each child and grandchild lies about the others (our daughter told us the lies she'd told her about us). We eventually gave up to her and didn't communicate with her at all for about 20 years before her death, after which the family got close again.
